This amp-in-a-box style pedal emulates the classic 1960s tube amplifiers made by Supro* that have been used by legendary guitarists like Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page. Over the years, we have watched the Superbolt find its way onto the pedalboards of some of our favorite artists, including King Gizzard \u0026amp; the Lizard Wizard, Dweezil Zappa, Robin Trower, Blue Öyster Cult, Madison Cunningham and Noel Gallagher.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eIn 2017, Josh built his longtime friend and session \/ touring guitarist Mason Stoops a one-off Superbolt with a unique taco graphic. The taco icon was a reference to the jam sessions \/ taco nights they often attended together in LA.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eThe practice of giving a custom built pedal as a gift was normal in the JHS world, but something far less normal happened when Stoops plugged it in: \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003ehe noticed a glitch\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003e. The internal bias trim pots had never been properly adjusted, resulting in a wildly unbiased sound that Stoops instantly adored. No longer an overdrive, and somewhere between a fuzz and a blown-out Tweed amp, the TacoBolt was the definition of a happy accident. Over the years this sound has become a staple of Stoops’s work and piqued the curiosity of his collaborators. In 2024, we have recreated this serendipitous circuit with the last remaining (now discontinued) Superbolt materials in the limited edition JHS TacoBolt.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e*SUPRO IS A REGISTERED TRADEMARK.
